I will be preparing a Newspage style handout for each day of UnSeminar 7, and the sponsor spots will be “mirrored” with what’s on my shirt. I noticed at the first seminar I did people wanted a list of sponsors. This is even better, because not only will it include each day’s sponsors, but I also have done some research on the local restaurants which I will share in the newspage. Any other tidbits I know of before the paper goes to press, likely October 14th, I will add, such as the most up to date “un Schedule” as well as any other tidbits.
I have prepared a template as a guide, and started on day one’s so you will get an idea what the finished product will look like. I will also of course have all three days’ pages available online for anyone to grab, not just seminar attendees.
I will print these up and have in each attendees chair in the morning of each day. Every one who goes to UnSeminar 7 will have your link in front of them not only by seeing my shirt, but also by seeing the “FunSeminar Times” issue du jour!
Had a question from someone recently – “Do you know if your sponsors from Unseminar 6 had any increased business or other positive results from sponsoring you?
I did not want to speak for them, so I asked! Here are the responses I have had so far:
I don’t know if it was you or not, but the Twitter followers and list signups I got from US6 were very responsive people. And when you promoted via twitter, I did get some new followers directly. (Unfortunately, it’s really hard to put a Google Analytics tracking code on a shirt!)
(Nathan is also sponsoring me again! That is a testimonial in itself!)
The biggest thing your marketing did was inspire me to do more, to find a way to get what I wanted to do done! I was really inspired by the interview you did on Visionquest and that’s why I said “Hell yes I’ll sponsor you!”
My list definitely increased during and after UN6 soooo, was it because of that? I don’t know. Would like to think so. I learned in my real estate business, I might not always be able to trace a lead directly back to one particular ad BUT I could always trace it back to the fact that the more they saw my name and face, the more likely they were to remember it. My thought is that the people that sat directly behind you every day will remember it. LOL Anybody else? Who knows!
In my case, I was helping a friend that I had never met and wanted to meet get to a seminar! THAT was the benefit to me also. Because, not only was it on your shirt, but every chance you get (and even in your book) you were great to tell people who put the ads in. So. . . ads and good deeds have far-reaching effects
One more thought, not only did I get the direct advertising on the shirt, I also got several days of twitter promotion. WHO can put a price on that? If my followers increased and my list increased, then I would say YES, I totally and completely got a marketing result!
I couldn’t tell you whether or not anyone bought from me as a result of you advertising my sites, as it didn’t dawn on me to pay attention, but one thing I did notice was how many more people came to my sites on the days you promoted them on Twitter. Both times, I checked Google Analytics and many more people came to both sites.
Martha’s mention of the Twitter Promotion is an important point. Martha actually sponsored me for three days, so I promoted her on twitter as part of the “blitz” for three days. I had no trouble finding awesome things to say about her because she had great content on her site. I will find out the best about you, whether it is as simple as it was with Martha or not, and talk you up on twitter several times in one day as part of your sponsorship.
What we do is offer a prize to those who retweet your link the most that day. It is fun and a great way to get you more exposure. I treasure my Twitter followers and choose to follow only those who are engaging and responsive. This really makes for a great list of followers, which is nearing 3,ooo real people who really read my tweets. This is key. I am serious about getting my message out, and for your blitz day, your message IS my message!
